I stayed at site 048. The site has electric hook up, dump station, shade, level, easy access, cell service, fire pit, table, grill, clean showers, restrooms, pet friendly, hiking and water access.
PP discount, so the site rate was $9/night.
Today's first stop (after McD's) was the Hard Rock in Gary Indiana for a pin. From there, I headed south toward the campsite in Whittington, IL. I stopped at the CUTEST little town that consisted of several murals in the 'downtown' area of Arcola in Amish country. I passed by several farms with buggies outside and farmers working in the heat dressed in pants, long sleeves and hats. One house had a clothesline full of Amish clothes drying in the warm summer sun. What a find! I missed the annual Broom Corn Festival where you pick your cornstalks and they make you a broom from what you've chosen. After that I continued on my route and stopped at a small town bar for beer and a late lunch. The campsite is on a peninsula and mine is the ONLY camper at the end! Another beautiful campsite! Although, it isn't level and I couldn't get level and I kept waking up all night long feeling the unevenness and worried that I would roll down the hill into the water!
